PROGRAMME OF EVENTS

We like to encourage participation by children and young people but we must insist that all children under the age of 16 are in the care of a responsible adult.
MAY 2010 An evening walk will be arranged with a commentary on a topic of local historical or environmental interests. There will be a small charge of £1.

19.06.10 - The Pro Loco Art Competition The annual Pro Loco Art competition sponsored this year by Derbyshire County Council Small Arts Grant Fund, Hayfield Parish Council and local donors. The event is open to all age groups. The object is to create a picture in a day capturing the spirit of Hayfield. At the end of the afternoon entries are displayed and the public asked to vote for its favourite picture in each category. Registration for artists commences at 08:30 in St Matthew's Church Hall and the awarding of prizes takes place at approximately 17:30. For full details see the Pro Loco page.


JULY 2010 7th - 9th July - Preparation for Hayfield Well Dressing We shall be dressing the well we care for on Swallow House Lane. The theme this year is 'The Carnival of Animals'. Penny Pope will organise the creation of the board and would like to hear from volunteers available to work on it. John would also like to hear from anyone willing to help with the mounting and dismantling of displays. Please contact them on 742849 if you would like to help.

10th - 18th July - Well dressings On Display

SEPTEMBER 2010 18.09.10 and 19.09.10 - Hayfield Country Show We shall have our usual display at Hayfield Country Show. We would love to hear from anyone who would like to help prepare our exhibit or man the pitch. In any case, please come and visit us and see what we have been up to.


OCTOBER 2010 09.10.10 - Annual River Clean We shall be organising our annual 'River Clean'. Meet in the Memorial Square at 13.30. Bring gloves and wellies. Pickers and sacks will be provided. Finish by 1530 - 1600.

23.10.10 and 26.10.10 - Past Projects Autumn Tidy October will be when we give our past projects the autumn tidy. To help at the sheepwash please gather at the site at 10.30 am on 23rd October and to help in the village with the Calico Trail meet by the riverside at the sluice at 14.00. On Tuesday 26th October we will clear the gathered debris for composting/disposal. If you plan to come, please phone Judith on 743847 to help us organise numbers.
